Los Angeles, Oct 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) If there is anything that does not change about the Mayor League Baseball Playoffs, then it has to be the upsets. Like most of the other post-seasons, the hot favorites were eliminated in the first rounds.

The New York Yankees were by far the most star-studded team going into the playoffs. They were paired against the Detroit Tigers and after the first game of the series, the scripts seemed to be playing out as most people predicted.

However, the Tigers turned the game on its head by winning Game 2 and 3. The Yankees fought back and leveled the series 2-2 by winning Game 4 convincingly. With the deciding fifth game scheduled at the Yankees, many pundits believed it was a wrap. It didn’t turn out to be so and the Tigers won the game to send the dreaded Yankees out of the playoffs.

The Tigers move to the next stage of the playoffs and they will play against the Texas Rangers. The St Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers are the other teams that progressed to the next stage of the series.

The upcoming games are expected to be highly competitive because all the teams seem to be on par.
