3 Steelers sustain concussions in a game vs. Bengals
November 11th, 2010 - 11:09 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattCincinnati, Nov 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Three Steelers suffered concussions during their Monday game in Cincinnati against the Bengals. The three players Will Allen, Mewelde Moore and Isaac Redman will have to pass post-concussion tests before they can play again. The players will have to prove during the tests that they have fully recovered from the concussion before they will be cleared to play again.
The three players’ concussions were part of the many misfortunes that the Steelers suffered during their 27-21 win in Cincinnati on Monday. Chris Kemoeatu was worse off on the night. He suffered sprain right knee during the game and that could mean a long time on the sidelines.
If either of the running backs, Redman or Moore fail to pass the post concussion tests, Jonathan Dwyer will be the likely replacement in the game against New England. The players’ cognitive skills will be measured and the results will be compared to their cognitive skills before the concussion. If the result shows that the players are still active then they will be allowed to play again.
The injuries forced the Steelers to change their offensive strategy against the Bengals.
