120 top riders for Delhi Cyclothon

New Delhi, Oct 6 (IANS) New Delhi will hold its second edition of the Hero India Cyclothon Sunday with around 120 of the country’s top cyclists taking part in the Rs.500,000 prize money race.

The race, organised by Cycling Federation of India in partnership with Hero Cycles and Sport 18, was earlier scheduled to take place Sep 11 but was postponed due to the Delhi High Court blast Sep 7.

The route for the 60-km race will be the same as it was in the opening edition, which was also a Test event in the runup to the Commonwealth Games.

The race will start from Parliament Street and the cyclists will pass through Raisina Road, Connaught Place, Janpath, Rajpath and Vijay Chowk before returning to the spot of origin. The riders will cover the distance in six laps of the route.

Besides the main race, there will rides organised for school children, corporate sector and the general public.
