Karachi, Jan 5(ANI): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has cancelled all programmes related to former President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s 83rd birth anniversary on account of the assassination of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer.
“Syed Qaim Ali Shah, who is also President PPP Sindh has cancelled all functions, which were scheduled for January 5, to mark the birth anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto,” the Daily Times quoted a statement issued by PPP Sindh, as saying.
Taseer was shot dead on Tuesday in Islamabad by one of his bodyguards, who opposed his criticism of blasphemy laws.
It is the most high-profile political killing in Pakistan since former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination in December 2007. (ANI)
