Zardari visits Myanmar

Yangon, Jan 25 (IANS) Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Myanmar Tuesday on a two-day official visit.

The Pakistani president met with his Myanmarese counterpart U Thein Sein in Nay Pyi Taw shortly after he arrived in the country, Xinhua reported quoting the country’s state-run media. The report did not reveal details of the meeting.

Zardari was expected to fly to Yangon Wednesday to meet Aung San Suu Kyi, leader of the opposition National League for Democracy (NLD).

Myanmar’s export to Pakistan stood $19.4 million in 2010-11 fiscal year.
