Zardari to be released from hospital Thursday
December 14th, 2011 - 9:07 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Dec 14 (IANS) Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, who is is being treated in a Dubai hospital, will be discharged Thursday, the president’s spokesperson said Wednesday.
Farhatullah Babar said Zardari’s physician Khaldoun Taha, who has been treating the president at the American Hospital in Dubai, said all medical investigations carried out on Zardari were “within the normal range”.
Zardari left Pakistan for Dubai Dec 6 after reportedly suffering a stroke that caused bleeding in the brain and facial paralysis.
Zardari would be discharged Dec 15 to rest at home and would continue with his medication, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
Earlier in an interview with a Pakistani TV channel, Zardari said he was alright and would return to Pakistan soon. He said many of his enemies did not want him to return to his country.
“They think that I have fled but escape is not an option. I will never leave as I was born in Pakistan and I will die in Pakistan. I will return in a few days and my enemies will be disappointed,” Zardari said.
