Islamabad, July 2 (IANS) The blasts at Lahore’s Sufi shrine that killed 38 people show that terrorists have no respect for any religion and such acts will not deter us to fight them, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said Friday.
Such terror acts cannot dent the government’s resolve to fight the menace of terrorism and militancy to the end, Zardari said.
A double suicide bombings inside the Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh shrine (Data Darbar) Thursday night killed at least 38 people and injured 175.
Zardari expressed deep grief and shock over the loss of human lives and injuries, caused by the “heinous act of terrorism”, according to APP.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani also condemned the attack, describing it as a brutal act against humanity.
Gilani said the terrorists neither respect human values nor care for human lives, and their brutal act is manifestation of their evil designs.
“Such cowardly acts indicate that the terrorists after their defeat in bordering areas have resorted to target innocent citizens in the cities,” he added.
