Lahore, Jan 22 (ANI): Former premier and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has said that there is no threat to the Punjab Government, and added that he is not going to beg the PPP to save it.
Talking to MPAs of four divisions of Punjab on Wednesday, Sharif expressed these views. He said that no government could deter us from our principled stance.
Our government in Punjab is strong and there is no threat to it and we would not compromise on our principles to save it and neither we would beg, he added.
Sharif said The PML-N is still stuck on its stance of reinstatement of deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and we would continue our struggle till the reinstatement of judiciary.
He said: We want PPP-led Government to follow the Charter of democracy and all the promises made from February 18. We have no ministries or holding any government office and Pakistan comes first for us.
Sharif said that on January 24 he would accord a warm welcome to Chief Justice Iftikhar upon his arrival in Lahore.
Meanwhile, former Punjab Governor Ghulam Musatafa Khar has met Sharif at his residence.
Sharif said that PML-N rendered numerous sacrifices for the democracy and the rulers have not brought change despite the mandate given by the nation in last February elections.
The people are bitterly angry on the performance of the government, he maintained.
He said the restoration of judges and independence of judiciary is not in the interest of a single party, but it will resolve the problems of the entire nation. (ANI)
