‘We want peace with India,’ says Pak FM Quraishi
February 7th, 2011 - 1:01 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Feb.7 (ANI): Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Quraishi has said that he would like his country to be at peace with India, and added that while he is looking forward to his visit to India, the trip must be meaningful and should address all outstanding issues constructively.
“I have suggested to them (India) to let us work out an agenda which addresses outstanding issues between India and Pakistan, because unless we address them, we cannot have lasting peace in the region,” Quraishi told Gulf News in an interview.
“We want peace and good neighbourly relations with India. My expectation is to make both countries realize that dialogue is the only way forward. And, our issues can only be resolved if we sit together and talk to each other and look for a peaceful, negotiated settlement. We should resume the composite dialogue, which was going on for the last four years but was broken after the Mumbai attacks,” he added. (ANI)
