US to ensure timely delivery of coalition support aid to Pak: Graphsman
March 7th, 2011 - 12:44 pm ICT by ANILahore, Mar 7(ANI): US Special Envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Mark Graphsman has said that his country will ensure that the aid due to Pakistan under the Coalition Support Fund (CSF) is provided in time.
Graphsman, who is currently in Pakistan to meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and other top leaders, said this after his meeting with Finance Minister Hafiz Shaikh.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, the US envoy said that Shaikh highlighted the delay in providing the aid.
“The US admitted that it would ensure that the amount would be provided to Pakistan in time,” the Daily Times quoted Graphsman, as saying.
He also emphasized the Obama administration’s commitment to long-term, enduring partnerships with both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The CSF was created after 9/11 to reimburse key allied countries for providing assistance to the U.S. in the global war on terror. (ANI)
