US national arrested in Lahore
December 24th, 2009 - 7:11 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Lahore, Dec 24 (IANS) The security agencies here have arrested a US national and two Pakistanis after they refused to allow their vehicle to be searched, Online news agency reported.
Police personnel and officials of the security agencies agencies, at a joint picket at the Sherpao bridge, stopped a vehicle bearing number ISG-761 and carrying a US national and two Pakistani and asked them to get their vehicle searched but they refused.
The trio also made some calls while sitting in the vehicle. The policemen tried their best to convince the foreigner and the Pakistanis to allow them to search their vehicle but to no avail.
Another number plate bearing no CC 64-181 was also lying on the dashboard of the Land Cruiser. The security agencies then towed away the vehicle with the occupants inside it and took them to undisclosed location for interrogation.
“Suspicious activities of US nationals are on rise in different areas of the country especially in Lahore. Police also detained five American nationals from Sargodha some days ago for their alleged involvement in terrorism in Pakistan.
