UK, US involvement in political crisis left negative impact on Pak
March 23rd, 2009 - 5:50 pm ICT by ANIKarachi, Mar. 23 (ANI): The Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz have left a negative impact on the nation by involving the US, UK and the national army in the political crisis, Jamiat Ulema Islam- Fazlur Rehman (JUI-F) Secretary General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi has said. Addressing a reception ceremony, Hyderi claimed that Sharif had an agreement with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari post Musharraf regime. Sharif handed over a paper to Zardari and said now we should follow upon this agreement. When we inquired, it emerged that the agreements asked for the restoration of deposed judges within 24 hours and that PPP should not nominate a candidate for the presidency until the restoration of judiciary, the Daily Times quoted Hyderi, as saying. Hyderi said the document was later signed by Zardari, Sharif and other leaders of their respective parties. When we contacted Zardari over his signature, he opined that he signed the document on considering it a positive agreement. After his comments, JUI-F also backed the said agreement, said Hyderi. Furthermore, he said after a long discussion, a draft was prepared for the restoration of judges and the implementation on the agreement that the draft would be tendered in the National Assembly and be approved after a brief argument. However, Sharif later announced they would part ways from the government if the judges were not restored within 24 hours, Hyderi said. (ANI)
