UAE gives $38 mn to build Pakistan highway
January 15th, 2012 - 11:21 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Abu Dhabi, Jan 15 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will give $38 million to Pakistan for the construction of a strategic highway in the country’s South Waziristan region.
The 50-km Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan highway connecting Wana and Angoor Ada will be completed by the beginning of 2013, said Abdullah Al-Ghafli, director of the UAE Project to Assist Pakistan (UAE PAP).
The fund will be provided through the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation.
Al-Ghafli said the UAE PAP is also constructing 41 schools and 10 other institutes in Pakistan.
