Two killed, six injured in landmine blast in northwest Pakistan
April 30th, 2011 - 4:55 pm ICT by ANIPeshawar, April 30(ANI): At least two people were killed and six others wounded in an explosion in Pakistan’s Kurram tribal region on Saturday.
Hospital sources said that the explosion occurred when a passenger vehicle, travelling from central to lower Kurram, struck a landmine in the Ladha area.
The vehicle was destroyed in the explosion and led to the deaths of two people, the Dawn reports.
In another incident in central Kurram, armed men abducted eight people along with their three vehicles.
Kurram, which lies near the Afghan border, has witnessed several military offensives against militants hiding there after escaping last year’s offensive in the nearby Orakzai tribal region. (ANI)
