Twin blasts rock Peshawar, 10 dead (Lead)
June 12th, 2011 - 3:30 am ICT by IANSIslamabad, June 12 (IANS) At least 10 people were killed and many others, including four journalists, were injured when two powerful blasts ripped through a supermarket in Pakistan’s Peshawar city late Saturday night.The blasts occurred near the offices of media organizations at the Khyber supermarket, Xinhua reported quoting the local Urdu TV channel Samaa. Over 20 shops were destroyed.
The supermarket building caught fire after the blasts, Geo TV reported.
Meanwhile, rescue teams have reached the spot and the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.
