Three Pakistani policemen gunned down
December 1st, 2011 - 8:45 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Dec 1 (IANS) At least three policemen were killed and two others injured Thursday when unidentified gunmen ambushed a police vehicle in Pakistan’s Punjab province, a media report said.
The attack took place around 4.40 p.m. when the police vehicle was attacked in Rangu Bridge area of Khanewal district, Xinhua reported citing Geo News.
Another media report said the policemen were from the nearby city of Multan, around 50 km from Khanewal.
The identities of the police official were not known nor was there any indication of the number of gunmen involved in the attack or the purpose of their attack as the policemen were coming from another city.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
