Three killed in Pakistan suicide bombing (Lead)
June 26th, 2011 - 10:36 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, June 26 (IANS) At least three policemen were killed in a suicide bombing near a police station in Pakistan’s Multan city Sunday, an officer said.
A suicide bomber riding a motorcycle exploded a bomb near the police station in the city’s busy commercial area Qaddafi Square. Around 10 to 12 policemen were injured in the attack, district police chief Zahid Akhtar told Xinhua.
He said the bomber, who was injured, was arrested. Doctors were trying to save his life, he added.
Two of the injured policemen were in critical condition, officials said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The blast damaged several nearby houses, eyewitnesses said.
