Three killed, 40 injured in two attacks on Pakistan Navy buses in Karachi

Karachi, April 26(ANI): At least three persons were killed and 40 others wounded in two separate terror attacks on Pakistan Navy buses in Karachi on Tuesday morning.

According to initial details, a bomb, which was planted in a motorcycle, exploded when a Pakistan Navy bus, carrying over 20 staff members, reached near it.

One person was killed while 19 others were injured in the attack, which took place near P.N. Shifa Hospital, adjacent to Defense Housing Society Phase-I in the metropolis.

In a separate terror attack, a powerful explosion ripped through another bus of Pakistan Navy in Baldia Town, killing two persons and injuring 21 others.

Policemen, fire tenders and rescue officials converged to explosion sites and cordoned off the areas, while all injured were shifted to hospitals for medical treatment, Samaa TV reports.

Many prominent leaders, including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and Interior Minister Rehman Malik, have condemned the attacks.

Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad has instructed the Inspector General of Police and the CCPO to investigate both attacks at the earliest and submit a detailed report to him.The Senior Superintendent of Police and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) said that both blasts were remote controlled and apparently done by the same group. The security of the metropolis has been beefed up as another bomb containing 10 kilograms of explosives has been defused in Baldia Town. (ANI)
