Peshawar, Dec 5 (ANI): Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf today said that terrorism and extremism from the tribal areas and Swat region would be uprooted soon.
The law and order situation is improving gradually in Swat and the tribal areas; The News quoted Musharraf, as saying.
While addressing the under training officers here at Command and Staff College, the former army General said that Pakistani armed forces are not only ensuring the protection of the boundaries in a better way, but are also playing its active role in the development process of the country including the progress of health, education and other sectors, the daily reported.
Musharraf, who took oath as a civilian president on November 29, said that though he is grieved over his retirement, but is glad that he handed over the command of Army Chief to a very talented General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani.
General Kayani was named as the successor to Musharraf in October, before the state of emergency was declared on November 3. (ANI)
