Terror threat will continue to torment India: US Expert

London, Feb.2 (ANI): All the measures initiated by India to tackle the threat of terrorism after the Mumbai mayhem may prove futile, as it will continue to be targeted by the jihadi terorists, believe experts.
According to Brian Michael Jenkins of US-based think tank Rand Corporation, terrorists would continue to target India in future despite Indias tough stand.
According to a statement presented before the US Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee by Jenkins, the design of the Mumbai attack is helping other extremists groups to take inspiration and plan attacks similar in nature to the November 2008 carnage.
Other extremists in India inevitably will find inspiration and instruction from the Mumbai attack, The Dawn quoted the report, as saying.
The report also emphasized on the immediate need to disentangle the training camps of the terrorists, as they provide the militant groups an easy opportunity to plan and execute large scale operation based on the Mumbai attacks.
The safe havens would continue to be key enablers for terrorist groups as they allow terrorist leaders to recruit, select and train their operators and make it easier for terrorists to plan and execute complex operations, such as the Mumbai attack, the report added.
The fight against the terrorism is very challenging, and Jenkins in his report, made it clear that both India and the United States lack policies to thwart the worldwide menace. (ANI)
