Peshawar, Dec. 12 (ANI): Pakistan security personnel have discovered a Taliban four-room ‘jannat’ (heaven), which was used by the insurgents to brainwash young suicide bombers.
According to a statement released by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), during search and combing operations in South Waziristan, security officials came across a four room house which the extremists used to portray to potential suicide bombers as ‘heaven’.
All the rooms had beautiful paintings of running canals of milk and honey surrounded by hoors (maidens of paradise), which were shown to the would-be bombers again and again to convince them that they would be going to a place similar to that in the pictures after they sacrifice themselves in the name of god.
“Taliban clerics showed the jannat to the would-be suicide bombers to convince them that once they blew themselves up they would enjoy a status equivalent to that of the companions of Prophet Muhammad,” The Daily Times quoted Major Saleem, as saying.
Major Saleem, under whose leadership the raids were conducted, said the recruits were also told that they would live in the company of beautiful ‘hoors’ forever.
Hate literature, CDs, hashish and other drugs were also seized during the raid. (ANI)
