Taliban Islamabad, June 29 (IANS) The Pakistani Taliban have threatened to carry out attacks on nine more key installations in the country, similar to the Karachi naval base strike, to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden, a media report said.

“The revenge game has already been started from Pakistan. The attack on Mehran naval base in Karachi was the first in line of 10 that Taliban have planned to avenge the death of bin Laden,” Wali-ur Rehman, head of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in South Waziristan region, told Al Arabiya channel.

A 15-hour siege that began on the night of May 22 at the PNS Mehran base led to the death of 14 people, including four terrorists. The Pakistani Taliban also destroyed two US-made P-3C Orion aircraft with rockets.

“Nine more attacks of the same intensity have been planned on equally important installations,” said Rehman, who carries a reward of $600,000 on his head and figures on the US list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

Describing the Pakistan Army as a “US puppet”, Rehman said Taliban would fight for at least eight more years against security forces.

Rehman also threatened to carry out attacks against the US, British and French targets.

“Soon you will see attacks against America and NATO countries, and our first priorities in Europe will be France and Britain,” he said.
