Lahore, Jun.19 (ANI): The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is recruiting young uneducated men in South Punjab by offering them a monthly stipend of 16, 000 to 20,000 rupees, senior advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Zulfiqar Khosa has said.
While admitting that the Taliban was recruiting unemployed youth in the province to bolster its terror plans, Khosa denied the presence of any terror training camps in the region.
Interacting to media persons following attending the budget session of the Punjab Assembly, Khosa pointed out that the Taliban, which was rooted out of Punjab, is once again trying to establish its reign of terror in the province and has also joined hands with the Afghan and Kashmiri separatists.
“The Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) had banned them (the Taliban) during its first regime in the province in 1988 to 1990, but they are operational in the area once again,” The Daily Times quoted Khosa, as saying. (ANI)
