Taliban planning to target Karachi airport, hospitals in garb of pilgrims, patients

Karachi, Dec.8 (ANI) : Pakistani intelligence agencies have warned that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda are planning of carrying out attacks on Karachi’s hospital’s and the airport to take revenge for the on-going military operation in South Waziristan.
According to intelligence reports, extremists may target important hospitals and the international airport in the guise of patients or Haj pilgrims.
Interior Ministry’s National Crisis Management Cell has also sent a communiqué to all the provincial authorities warning them that the Taliban may also use improvised explosive devices and suicide attacks against foreigners in Karachi, The Daily Times reports.
Sources said Sindh Special Home Secretary Collin Kamran Dost, in his letter to Inspector General of Police Sallahuddin Khattak, has also warned that the extremists could target US citizens, people associated with American projects, and foreigners staying at hotels, as well as US diplomats, and employees working for foreign non-governmental organisations.
