Taliban kill three ”US spies” in NW PakistanDecember 29th, 2008 - 3:37 pm ICT by ANI
Miranshah, Dec. 28 (ANI): Taliban militants have killed three men in Pakistans North Waziristan Agency, suspecting them to be United States spies. A body was recovered in the Miranshah Bazaar with a Taliban note claiming that the man was a US spy, and a cassette in which he made his confession, would be made public soon.
Two more bodies were found killed in a similar manner near Khesu Khel Pul, 24 kilometres east of Mirali tehsil of Miranshah.
Similar notes were recovered on the bodies saying; those spying for the US forces would be treated in a similar manner.
These incidents are the latest in the string of similar killings in North Waziristan, which has a monopoly of Taliban insurgents.
Dozens of local tribesmen have been killed by the al Qaeda militants on allegations of spying, either for the Pakistani government or the US forces.
The Taliban intruded Pakistan’’s lawless tribal areas in 2001 when hundreds of Taliban and Al-Qaeda rebels sought refuge in the region after the US toppled the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. (ANI)
