Pervez Musharraf Karachi, Mar 8(ANI): The Sindh High Court has directed Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to act lawfully on a treason petition filed against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.

The court issued the directive in response to a petition filed in the SHC by the Rah-i-rast Trust chief, Agha Ataullah Shah, the Dawn reports.

Ataullah had stated in his petition that he had requested the FIA to register a case of treason against Musharraf for violating the Constitution and imposing a state of emergency on November 3, 2007.

The petition requested the court to direct the FIA to register the case.

A two judges’ divisional bench of the SHC, comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Imam Bakhsh Baloch, heard the petition.

During the hearing, Deputy Attorney General Omar Hayat Sindhu assured the court that action would be taken on the petition.

The petition was discarded after the court directed the FIA to act on it. (ANI)
