Sindh CM’s advisor accuses Pak media of suffering from “Zardari phobia”
August 13th, 2010 - 7:02 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Aug 13 (ANI): Adviser to Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the Sindh Chief Minister, Sharmila Farooqui, has alleged that Pakistan’s media is suffering from “Zardari phobia.”
Accusing the media of maligning Zardari’s image abroad, Farooqui said it is no business to refer to the President as “Mr. Teen Percent”.
“The print and electronic media is suffering from Zardari phobia,” The Daily Times quoted Sharmila, as saying.
“The international media had criticised President Zardari’s visit to Europe because the local media had been busy in tarnishing the image of the head of state,” she added.
The media had highlighted the weaknesses of the government, but had never held a programme to commemorate the successes of the government, which included the 18th Amendment, the NFC award and successful military operations in Swat and South Waziristan, she said.
She also criticised Geo TV and ARY News for reporting on the shoe throwing incident. (ANI)
