Islamabad, Mar.12 (ANI): The Pakistan Interior Ministry has expressed fears of a possible attack on PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif.
According to The News, the Sharif brothers have been asked to discontinue their spate of public rallies, as they could be targeted during such events.
According to sources the ministry has communicated to the Sharif brothers about the threat in a letter.
It has also decided to enhance the security cover of the Sharifs, and directives regarding this have been issued to the concerned authorities.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif in an interview with a leading foreign daily had accused President Zardari of plotting to assassinate him.
I have recently received certain information from own sources, about certain forces who are active against me. Threats to my life come from high-ranking government officials, certain topmost people in the government, my sources say, Sharif said.
Meanwhile, following reports of a probable Al-Qaeda attack on the lawyers long march, security has been beefed-up in Sindh.
Police officials have also briefed political leaders about the probable attack and security provisions. (ANI)
