Sharif says Zardari not restoring judges because of NRO

Lahore, Mar 10 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that President Asif Ali Zardari is not restoring the deposed judges because of National Reconciliation ordinance.

Talking to PML-N members in Raiwind, Sharif said in order to save the country he would even offer sacrifice of his life.

We would have been standing by Zardari if he had been true to his words, The News uoted him, as saying.

The PML-N chief said Zardari and his party had a common agenda in the beginning, but now Zardari has changed his mind.

The NRO was signed between then President Pervez Musharraf in 2007, paving the way for a power-sharing deal with former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Musharraf signed the ordinance giving amnesty to Bhutto and other political leaders — except exiled former premier Nawaz Sharif — in all court cases against them. (ANI)
