Sharif was deported to Jeddah by the Musharraf regime on September 10 from the Islamabad airport.

Sharif said government officials had contacted him on more than one occasion and asked him to meet Musharraf in Jeddah, adding that he had categorically refused to meet the General because he didnt want to settle his issues at the cost of the peoples interest, the Daily Times reported.
