Peshawar, Sept 14 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that there is no possibility of another military regime in the country, rather people involved in corruption should be thrown out.
The government’s failure could not be described as the failure of democracy, the Daily Times quoted Sharif, on a visit to Charsadda district to spend Eid with the flood victims, as saying.
Sharif said that there was no need of a military operation in Balochistan; and criticising the government for its inability to take proper measures in time to help the affectees, he urged the judiciary and parliament to throw out corrupt people.
Calling upon the federal government to support the flood affectees and start rehabilitation, he pointed out, “Our resources are not so limited that we cannot rehabilitate the flood victims.”
Last week, Sharif had said that under present circumstances, the country could not afford another period of martial law, as the last dictatorial regime had left the nation in a poor state.
Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has also repeatedly been stating that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government would complete its tenure and there was no possibility of the army taking over. (ANI)
