Karachi, Mar 26(ANI): The ongoing wave of target killings in the Pakistani metropolis claimed at least seven more lives on Friday.

A nephew of Amir Khan, the jailed chairman of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi, was chased before being sprayed with bullets, the Dawn quoted police and party sources, as saying.

While the area police showed unawareness about the motive and the culprits behind his murder, the leaders of the MQM-H claimed that the victim was targeted for being the nephew of their chairman, Amir Khan.

“He was a son of Azam Khan, the elder brother of Amir Khan and also a senior member of the party. The victim was unmarried and lived with his family in Liaquatabad but due to a persistent threat to their lives, they moved to Malir Cantonment a few years ago,” said MQM-H spokesman Feroze Haider.

Another worker of the Amir Khan-led faction of the MQM-H was found shot dead in Landhi early in the morning. Also, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker, who was wounded in firing in Orangi Town a couple of days ago, died during his treatment at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The rising death toll in the current spate of targeted killings has so far apparently failed to make the concerned authorities move against the menace. (ANI)
