Seven killed, 25 hurt in bomb attack on northwest Pakistan shrine
March 4th, 2011 - 5:35 pm ICT by ANINowshera, Mar 4(ANI): At least seven people were killed and twenty-five others were wounded when a bomb went off at a crowded Sufi shrine at Nowshera in northwest Pakistan on Friday.
Women and children are also among the victims, Samaa TV reports.
It is feared that the death toll could rise.
According to media reports, the explosion took place at a mosque situated inside Akhund Panjo Baba shrine. Food was being served to worshippers when the deadly explosion took place.
Rescue teams have reached the blast spot and started shifting the dead and injured persons to state-run hospitals, where emergency has been declared.
Police and other law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area following the attack. (ANI)
