Saudi consulate attackers held in Pakistan
November 21st, 2011 - 8:10 am ICT by IANSIslamabad, Nov 21 (IANS) Four members of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Mehdi have been arrested for their involvement in an attack on the Saudi Arabian consulate in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi, a media report said.
Police raided the Eid Gah area of Karachi Sunday and arrested three people who later confessed their involvement in the attack, Xinhua reported citing the Dawn.
The accused told police they threw two grenades into the consulate in May, injuring several people.
They revealed to the police about the presence of another accomplice involved in the attack. Police caught the fourth suspect in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area after a gun-battle.
