Lahore, Jan.3 (ANI): Expressing his resolve to strengthen the country amid the present tumultuous situation, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said he will fight both internal and external forces that are conspiring against the democracy.
Addressing a public gathering after the stone laying ceremony of a dam in Hyderabad, Zardari said he is determined to pull out the country from the current turbulent situation with the help of the masses.
“Whether it’s internal conspiracy against democracy or external conspiracy against Pakistan, we will fight them with the support of the masses,” The Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying.
“It is thought and determination that run and save countries. Our conviction is strong. We will never bow to the opponents. We will support the masses, who are a source of strength,” he added.
Zardari vowed to take on the extremists with full force, saying those who assassinated former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto wanted to destabilise the country, but they would never succeed in their nefarious aims.
“The Bhuttos can be murdered but their vision, philosophy and love cannot be eliminated. Those who killed her (Benazir) were mistaken in thinking that after her death, the people of the country will not be taken care of,” Zardari said. (ANI)
