Relatives perform last rights of Charsadda bomb suicide attack victims

Islamabad, Nov.11 (ANI): A day after a suicide bomb killed 34 persons, including three women and six children, in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province’s (NWFP) Charsadda town, hundreds of people attended the funeral of the victims.

People performed the last rights of their near and dear ones.

Relatives of the blast victims expressed anger at the government’s failure in countering the terror menace.”We request the government to provide protection to the poor people. The poor people die everyday as my Mamu (maternal uncle) has died,”said Lal Khan, who uncle was one of the victims.

The Traders Association of Charsadda Bazaar has also announced one-day of mourning for the victims of the blast.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Coordination, Mohammad Alam Shinwari confirmed that around 60 kilograms of explosives were used in the bombing, The News reports.

At least a dozen vehicles besides hundreds of shops in the nearby buildings were destroyed in the blast, which was occurred when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden into a fruit shop situated in a busy market area at Farooq-e-Azam Chowk. (ANI)
