Rajapaksa concludes Pakistan visit

Islamabad, Feb 13 (IANS) Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa Sunday concluded his three-day official visit to Pakistan.
Rajapaksa held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Both sides pledged to boost bilateral trade from the current $375 million to $2 billion, as well as strengthen cooperation in various fields.
Three memorandum of understandings were signed related to media, education and one on a credit line of up to $200 million, Xinhua quoted a joint statement as saying.
Rajapaksa also met with Senate Chairman Farooq H. Naek and both leaders stressed the need for more parliamentary interactions.
The Sri Lankan leader also visited the first centre of Buddhist learning at Taxila in Rawalpindi district of Punjab province.
