PPP will protest if Feb 18 polls are rigged: ZardariFebruary 14th, 2008 - 1:16 pm ICT by admin
Lahore, Feb 14 (ANI): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has warned that his party may come out on streets if the February 18 elections are rigged.
The Election Commission of Pakistan is biased and it is imminent that the parliamentary polls will be pre-rigged, said Zardari.
We will call for all the political forces to get together, and together we shall decide how to take the people to the streets, how to do political agitation — enough to get our point of view across, he told a foreign news agency.
We will look at it when the time comes — all options are open to political forces, always, Zardari added.
Commenting on the possible attack on him, Zardari said that he was less concerned about himself and his major concern was about the PPP supporters, as in every attack they have died in the hundreds.
Zardari did not rule out sharing power with former Pakistani premier Nawaz Sharif or with pro-Musharraf Pakistan Muslim League-Quiad (PML-Q).
People’s Party and all the political forces are going to get together and have a consensus prime minister, said Zardari, adding, I have always felt when I was in prison they (the PPP) were with me. When I was away they were with me, and today they are with me. (ANI)
