Islamabad, Dec 11 (ANI): Former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto today hailed Nawaz Sharif for contesting January 8 elections, saying that the presence of the country’s big two parties - her Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) - would help in holding a fair poll in the country.

Nawaz Sharif has taken a correct decision that his party should participate in the election, Bhutto told reporters here.

When the two big parties participate, the government would be exposed if it rigs the elections, added Bhutto.

The All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) and other opposition parties should get united for restoration of democracy and democratic values in the country, The News quoted Benazir, as saying.

The masses are devoid of food, clothing and shelter, while the country is facing the menaces of terrorism and extremism, she said.

Benazir also said that opposition should mount a massive campaign if the elections are rigged. (ANI)
