PPP lawmaker richest in Pak Parliament
March 12th, 2011 - 5:32 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Mar 12(ANI): Senator Gul Muhammad Lot of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is the richest member of the Upper House of Parliament, with his property valuing 1.351 billion rupees in and outside Pakistan, besides 1.420-billion-rupee worth of investments.
The asset details submitted by Senator Gul with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the year 2010 shows that he has nine properties abroad, including one flat each in London and Saudi Arabia and a villa in UAE, the Daily Times reports.
Senator Mir Israr Ullah Zehri is the biggest landlord among the senators, owning 51,555 acres of agricultural land in seven districts of Balochistan.
Another senator from Balochistan, Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Raisani, owns seven hundreds goats, 60 camels and 12 donkeys worth over 9 million rupees, besides other property in his name.
In contrast, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam- Fazl (JUI-F) Senator Maulana Gul Naseeb owns no immovable and immovable property, and has liabilities in his name worth 1.2 million rupees and just five tolas jewellery.
Another JUI-F Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has immovable property worth 0.5 million rupees and furniture worth 0.15 million rupees. (ANI)
