Karachi, Jan 5 (ANI): The venue of the meeting of the heads of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) Chambers of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) has been shifted from Karachi to Delhi following the assassination of ex-premier Benazir Bhutto.
The meeting will be held on January 13 in New Delhi.
Former president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industries Pakistan (FCCIP), Iftikhar Ali Malik said that the 41st meeting of the executive committee of the SCCI was scheduled to be held in Karachi, but in the wake of the ‘present situation’ prevailing in Pakistan it is being held in New Delhi, The News reported.
Tanveer Ahmed Shaikh, president of the FCCIP will lead a ten-member delegation to New Delhi.
The meeting will review the regional and economic co-operation, free trade, economic policy reforms, promotion of tourism and especially the co-operation in energy sections. (ANI)
