Poland vows to bring Stanczaks killers to justiceFebruary 10th, 2009 - 3:06 pm ICT by ANI
Warsaw (Poland), Feb.10 (ANI): Perturbed by a video released by the Taliban showing militants beheading a Polish geologist, the Polish Government has vowed to bring the perpetrators of the inhuman crime to book.
Warsaw has promised to issue international arrest warrants for Taliban militants who executed Piotr Stanczak in Pakistan, four months after his abduction.
A crime was committed, so there has to be an investigation, a search for the culprits, and if possible putting them before the justice system and an exemplary punishment, Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski said.
Top Polish officials have also charged elements within the Pakistani Government for the killing, the Dawn said.
Polish Law Minister, Andrzej Czuma said intelligence has identified the kidnappers of Stanczak as members of the Taliban.
He added that extremist groups in Pakistan enjoy the support of the Pakistan government.
A lot of people among Pakistan’’s authorities sympathise with these bandits, Czuma said.
A Taliban spokesperson has claimed that Stanczak was killed due to Islamabads failure to release 26 of its associates. (ANI)
