Plea filed in Pak Supreme Court to hire eunuchs for loan recovery
October 17th, 2010 - 5:30 pm ICT by ANILahore, Oct 17 (ANI): An application has been filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, seeking a direction to the banks to appoint eunuchs for the recovery of heavy loans against politicians, bureaucrats, industrial magnates and members of the elite class.
In Lahore Registry of the apex court, Barrister Zafarullah Khan moved the application in his main petition to seek the recovery of bank loans to the tune of 274 billion rupees, which has not been paid back by the social and political leaders so far, The News reported.
In his petition, Khan pointed out that given the political and bureaucratic influence and their say in the national affairs, it was hard for the banks to recover loans from such defaulters.
Therefore, he pleaded the court to direct the banks to hire the services of eunuchs and hermaphrodites for the purpose, as they were best suited to insist and abash the defaulters to pay back the loans while shouting outside their residences.
The applicant argued that eunuchs were also good for the purpose of loans recovery, because through their dancing and clapping in public, they could make defaulters feel ashamed for their behaviour, and rush to pay back the outstanding loans. (ANI)
