Play on Bhagat Singh staged in Lahore
May 19th, 2011 - 1:25 pm ICT by IANSLahore, May 19 (IANS) “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola” - a play on Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh was staged here to a captivated audience.
The play, a tribute to Bhagat Singh, was written by Shahid Nadeem and directed by Madeeha Gauhar. It was staged at the Alhamra Arts Council Wednesday, reported Daily Times
“The performance by the actors was captivating and the music was well synchronised with the scenes,” Aneela, who watched the play, was quoted as saying.
Bhagat Singh, born in 1907 in Lyallpur district of Punjab, was hanged by the British in 1931 for shooting a police officer following a police lathi charge which led to the demise of veteran freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai.
