Petition against Geo TV for running Mumbai Terrorist storyDecember 19th, 2008 - 2:06 pm ICT by ANI
Acting Chief Justice Mian Najamuz Zaman on Thursday admitted for regular hearing a petition seeking registration of a case against the Geo TV channel for running a story about Ajmal Kasab.
Sardar Hur Bukhari, a Pakistan Peoples Party leader, had filed the petition. The petitioner submitted that the Muslim Town police had refused to register a case against the channel, the Daily Times reported.
He complained that the report damaged Pakistans image at international level and also gave an opportunity to the Indian media to propagate against Pakistan.
He urged action to be taken against Muslim Town station house officer and superintendent of police concerned for not registering a case of an anti-state activity. (ANI)
