Islamabad, July 25 (IANS) Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government will ensure that artists are given performance awards during their lifetime.
“The present government will do such a thing for the artists which was never done before,” Gilani said while addressing the 16th PTV Awards ceremony here.
The prime minister appreciated Pakistan Television for portraying the country’s soft and positive image at home and abroad through its various programmes including dramas, musical shows as well as information and news programmes, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
Gilani described Pakistan Television as a “family channel”.
He said there is no parallel to PTV dramas, which were famous even in India.
