Pakistan violates ceasefire
May 23rd, 2010 - 1:10 pm ICT by IANSJammu, May 23 (IANS) In a major incident of ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistani troops Sunday opened fire on Indian positions in Krishna Ghati sector in Mendhar in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
The Indian troops retaliated and a heavy exchange of gunfire was on. Pakistani troops also fired rockets.
A spokesperson of the Indian Army confirmed that there was ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in Krishna Ghati sector, 200 km north of Jammu. He said the Indian side retaliated and exchange of fire was on along the LoC since 9 a.m.
