Pakistan to contact Interpol over ‘Indian’ cyber attacks
December 9th, 2010 - 5:52 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Dec 9 (IANS) Pakistan has decided to take up with Interpol the defacing of several official websites by the “Indian Cyber Army”, a media report said Thursday.
The government has also decided to set up high-level probe, headed by the additional director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), to investigate the attacks in the ongoing “cyber war” between the two countries, the Urdu daily Jang said.
The team, which comprises several computer experts, will collect data from various sources and attempt to identify the hackers.
It was decided if the attacks are traced to Indian hackers then Interpol will be asked to proceed against them.
Thirty-six government websites, including those of the foreign ministry, the Pakistan Navy and the National Accountability Bureau, by defaced by the hackers, who left an emblazoned message that it was a tribute to 26/11 Mumbai terror attack victims.
In response, the “Pakistani Cyber Army” had last week defaced more than 200 Indian websites, including that of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
