Islamabad, June 5 (Xinhua) Pakistan Thursday said it would not hold talks with Al Qaeda on its territory although it is engaged in negotiations with Pakistani Islamist militants. The talks between the government and local militants were “at political level” but Islamabad would not talk to Al Qaeda, foreign ministry spokesman Mohammad Sadiq told a press conference here.

Pakistan’s new government has pledged to talk to those militants who lay down their arms.
