Pakistan rattled by terror attacks

Peshawar, Oct 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Pakistan has seen a string of terror attacks and blasts in the last week and today also the sequence continued. Today at least five explosions and blasts took place in many places, sometimes targeting the Army Headquarters, a school to even a peaceful residential colony also.

According to police reports, At least thirty-eight people are killed when a suicide car bomb explodes near a police station in the northwestern town of Kohat.

Whereas, in another attack, Gunmen attacked three police buildings simultaneously in the eastern city of Lahore. Police say 11 people which included six security officials and five attackers were killed.

A large explosion has taken place in a school in Pakistan’s Peshawar region, according to local media. The blast took place in the gulshan-e-rehaman colony, on Kohat road, which is a residential colony. Fortunately, the explosion occurred after school hours. At least one child of 8 years was reported killed and at least 4 were injured, when reports last came in.

Local police official Attique Shah told Fox News that the explosion was heard in the busy Kohat road area and medical personnel rushed to the scene. The injured were being transported to the hospital.

Apparently the Taliban have claimed responsibility for most of the assaults and warned of more attacks in the near future, if the army proceeds with an offensive in their main stronghold in South Waziristan tribal region.
